Grand Theft Auto VI is five weeks away, and pre-orders have been open since 25 June. Before you lock in a copy, it is worth knowing what each edition actually adds, what you can still cancel, and where the cheapest key that will really work in Ireland sits today.
The short version
- Release: 19 November 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Those are the only platforms Rockstar lists, and no PC version has been dated.
- Official prices: €79.99 for the Standard Edition and €99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, on both consoles.
- Cheapest valid key for Ireland: €67.38 for Xbox and €68.92 for PS5, both Europe keys on Kinguin, before the marketplace's checkout fee. Those prices are from 12 October 2026 and change daily.
- Our pick: the Standard Edition for most people. If you want the Ultimate Edition, buy it from the official store.
What you are pre-ordering
Both editions contain the same game. The Ultimate Edition adds a set of premium items threaded through Jason and Lucia's story: the '95 Grotti Cheetah, a pair of revolvers, extra outfits and tattoos, a classic-car commission, and a run of shops and businesses that Rockstar marks as "Only open for business with the Ultimate Edition." The upgrade from Standard to Ultimate is also sold separately, so starting on Standard does not close the door.
Every pre-order and every purchase made before 20 November comes with the Vintage Vice City Pack: a '55 Vapid Stanier with a garage, outfits and hairstyles for both leads, and a tropical weapon pattern. Digital pre-orders on PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store also get a free month of GTA+, which renews monthly at the regular price unless you cancel it.
There is no disc this time. The boxed version holds a download code and goes on sale on 12 November, the same day digital pre-loading opens.

Which edition, for which player
Most players: Standard
The Ultimate Edition's extras are vehicles, weapons, clothing and in-game businesses. If you are not sure you will want them, buy the Standard Edition, play for a few weeks, and upgrade later if Vice City has hooked you.
Completists: Ultimate, from the official store
On our Ultimate Edition page, the cheapest key valid in Ireland is €94.98 (Xbox, Kinguin), against €99.99 at the official stores. That gap is about €5 before the marketplace fee, which can swallow most of it, and a marketplace key should not be expected to carry the GTA+ month that official digital pre-orders include. Today we also see no Ultimate Edition keys for PS5 at all.
PS5 or Xbox?
Buy for the console you own: a code works on one platform only. The gap between the cheapest valid PS5 and Xbox keys was €1.54 today, so price is no reason to pick one over the other.
The cheapest legit prices today
All prices below are for Ireland, checked on 12 October 2026, and they change daily. Live prices are on our Grand Theft Auto VI page.
Standard Edition
- Xbox, Europe key: €67.38 at Kinguin, €72.99 at Gamivo
- PS5, Europe key: €68.92 at Kinguin, €75.99 at Gamivo
- Official PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store: €79.99
Ultimate Edition (Xbox only on GCG today)
- Xbox, Europe key: €94.98 at Kinguin, €95.00 at Gamivo
- Official stores: €99.99
You will see cheaper Xbox keys on the page, from €63.99. They are Rest of World, United States and Latin America keys, priced for other markets, and they will not activate in Ireland. We list them separately and mark them for exactly that reason; see how we rank offers.
Our marketplace prices are the listed price. Kinguin and Gamivo add a service fee at checkout, and some payment methods add their own, so the real saving on the Standard Edition will be smaller than the headline gap of €12.61.
Buying from a marketplace
- You are buying from a seller. The key comes from a third-party seller, not from Rockstar, Sony or Microsoft. Check the seller's rating and the marketplace's refund terms, especially for a code you have already revealed.
- Check the delivery date. If the seller only delivers the code on launch day, you cannot pre-load from 12 November.
- Check the bonuses. Rockstar ties the free GTA+ month to digital pre-orders on PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. The Vintage Vice City Pack covers purchases made before 20 November; if it matters to you, make sure the listing includes it.
Cancelling works differently on the official stores. On PlayStation Store, if you paid more than 14 days before release you can cancel up to launch, as long as nothing has started downloading, and a pre-load counts as a download. On Microsoft Store you can cancel from your order history while the "Cancel item" option is shown; once you have been billed, you request a refund instead.
Checklist before you pay
- Right console: PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, the only two Rockstar lists. Anything sold as a GTA 6 PC key is not the real game.
- Right region: Europe or Global for Ireland. Skip Rest of World, US and LATAM keys.
- Right edition: Standard unless you are sure, since the upgrade is sold separately.
- Marketplaces add a service fee at checkout, so compare what you would pay there against €79.99.
- Check the seller's rating and when the code will be delivered.
- Pre-ordering on PlayStation Store and might cancel? Switch off automatic downloads first.
